ABOUT Dr. Emily
I have spent my entire life playing sports and being active. Yet during my entire athletic career, including two years of college basketball, I had never once received a lesson about nutrition for sport. When I began to learn about nutrition, I was fascinated by the relationship between food and exercise. I came to realize that the nutrients we put into our bodies are literally the fuel for everything we do.
Being the nerd that I am, I wanted to learn as much possible about how intertwined nutrition and exercise are. I decided that becoming a Registered Dietitian (RD) and obtain a doctorate (PhD) in Kinesiology and thought I would become a professor and researcher. It wasn’t until I worked with collegiate basketball teams that I fell in love with providing tailored nutrition programming directly to athletes. Craving that direct client-to-practitioner relationship has since guided my career to becoming a professional basketball Team Dietitian.
We live in a time where answers to questions are readily at our fingertips - the problem is that those answers aren’t always coming from a credentialed professional. That’s where I come in.
I aim to provide a voice from the perspective of an evidence-focused, experienced, and professional sport dietitian. Eating is one of the few things that all humans have in common, and with a little guidance, we can all Eat Elite.
I LOVE food and believe it is the fuel for everything we do!
